Ross has been a dependable player for the Chiefs since his debut in 2017 against the Western Force. Over his stellar career with the team, he played in the 2023 and 2024 Super Rugby Pacific Grand Finals, becoming a cornerstone of their forward pack.

The 29-year-old’s international career includes one Test for the All Blacks against Ireland in 2022 under coach Ian Foster. He has also impressed for the All Blacks XV and during the NPC Final with Bay of Plenty, showcasing his world-class skills.

Ross, originally born in Gosford, New South Wales, spent eight years in Australia before moving to Tauranga. With his family in mind, the decision to join the Reds aligns with his personal and professional goals.

The 118-kg loosened prop emphasized his dedication to finishing his career with the Chiefs on a high note. “I owe so much to this franchise for shaping me as a player, and my goal is to have a strong 2025 season,” he added.

During a brief offseason visit to Brisbane, Ross was impressed with the Reds’ facilities at Ballymore Stadium and their coaching staff, including head coach Les Kiss and assistant Zane Hilton.

“I’ve respected the Reds’ DNA over the years, and after speaking to their coaches, I knew this was a challenge I wanted to take on,” Ross explained.

Stellar 2025 Season Expected:

Ross played 14 matches for the Chiefs in the 2024 Super Rugby Pacific season, with only one appearance off the bench. He scored a try against the Blues and clocked over 65 minutes in the Super Rugby Pacific Final, which unfortunately ended in a one-sided loss for the Chiefs.

In the NPC season, Ross was a key player for Bay of Plenty, who reached the Final against the Wellington Lions. Despite the team’s loss in extra time, Ross expressed determination for future successes: “I’ve had enough of finishing second—my ambition is clear.”

Wallabies Eligibility Looms:

Ross will become eligible for the Wallabies from July, adding a significant dimension to Australia’s rugby prospects. The Reds’ roster already includes former All Blacks Jeffrey Toomaga-Allen and Alex Hodgman, positioning the club to benefit from Ross’ wealth of experience.

However, Ross remains fully committed to the Chiefs for now, stating, “I’m all in for next season with the Chiefs.”
