Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Mystery: Shillong SIT arrests two individuals, including a property dealer and a security guard, in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder Mystery. They’ve been placed on transit remand until June 28. Two More Arrested in Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case
June 23, 2025 | Shillong’s Special Investigation Team has arrested two more suspects in Indore in connection with the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, bringing the total to seven accused so far. A local property dealer, Silom James, and security guard Balveer Ahirwar have been accused of helping destroy key evidence.
Evidence Concealment and Transit Remand
These arrests came after investigators discovered a rented flat in Heera Bagh where Sonam, the prime accused, had allegedly hidden a bag containing jewellery, a pistol, and a laptop. Silom James, who leased the flat to a co-accused, confessed to transporting this bag and burning its contents. The two men have been granted transit remand until June 28, and are expected to be taken to Shillong for further questioning.
Forensics teams conducted a thorough sweep of the burn site in Dewas district but found no recoverable items—the jewellery, pistol, and laptop appear completely destroyed. Officers believe key clues may still emerge through forensic analysis and satellite data.
Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Mystery Update: Wider Context
Earlier, Sonam Raghuvanshi and her lover, Raj Kushwaha, along with three alleged contract killers, were sent to judicial custody following their arrests. The Meghalaya court granted Sonam and Raj 13 days in custody while hitmen received 14-day remands.
Why This 2 More Arrest Matters
These fresh arrests highlight efforts to trace the murder’s logistics—not just the act itself. By following the trail of evidence from Meghalaya to Indore, investigators aim to fully map out the conspiracy, especially how Sonam allegedly coordinated with accomplices.

Silom James (property dealer) and Balveer Ahirwar (security guard) were arrested for allegedly concealing and burning a bag with crucial evidence at Sonam’s rented flat.

What happens next?
