Rahul Gandhi Slams BJP Calls for Amit Shah's Resignation Over Ambedkar Remarks

Rahul Gandhi: The ‘anti-Ambedkar’ remarks made by Amit Shah have led Rahul Gandhi to demand his resignation. Along with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi sharply criticized Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday for allegedly making anti-Ambedkar statements in Parliament. The BJP-RSS philosophy, Gandhi claimed, is “anti-Constitution” and “anti-Ambedkar.” Gandhi called for Shah’s resignation.

Kharge denounced Shah’s divisive remarks against Dr. BR Ambedkar at a news conference, calling them “tragic” and “factually incorrect.” He charged Shah with disseminating false information about the country’s first law minister. Before he makes such claims, he ought to verify his information. It is wrong to use lies to disparage Ambedkar and Nehru ji,” Kharge declared.

BJP Diverting Attention From Adani Controversy:

Kharge also accused the BJP of using Shah’s remarks to distract from the ongoing Adani controversy. “We protested for 14 days to expose the Adani loot. This statement in Parliament was just a diversion tactic,” Kharge stated. He linked Shah’s comments to a debate on the Constitution, accusing the BJP of shielding the Adani Group. Kharge also mentioned the clash during a Congress protest march. “We were peacefully protesting, but BJP MPs used muscle power to stop us. They even targeted female Congress MPs,” he alleged.

Rahul Gandhi: BJP-RSS Mindset Is Anti-Ambedkar

Rahul Gandhi criticized the BJP for attempting to suppress discussions on the Adani controversy in Parliament. He claimed the BJP’s ideological foundation is rooted in opposing Ambedkar’s legacy. “Their thinking is anti-Constitution. Amit Shah’s remarks exposed this mindset,” Gandhi stated.

He emphasized that Congress’s demand for Shah’s resignation isn’t symbolic but a call for accountability. Gandhi further said, “This started before the Parliament session, with the US case on Adani. The BJP’s strategy has been to suppress this issue entirely.”

Priyanka Gandhi Leading the Movement:

Kharge praised Priyanka Gandhi for leading Congress’s protests, which included several women leaders. “Priyanka ji showed strength in the movement, especially in the face of BJP’s male-dominated counter-protests,” Kharge said.

He also accused Amit Shah of attempting to manipulate the narrative to shield his image, adding, “Shah urged the media to show his video prominently to twist the facts. Such tactics will not be tolerated.”

Congress’s Stand And Adani controversy:

The Congress has reiterated its commitment to holding the BJP accountable for issues surrounding the Adani controversy and alleged anti-Constitutional statements. The party vows to continue its fight to protect Ambedkar’s legacy and demand justice for the misuse of power in Parliament.
